Advisory Board
ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CORRUPTION
Section 49 of the Anti-Corruption Act, 2000 makes provision for the appointment of an Advisory Committee on Corruption. The Committee is to exercise strategic oversight of the Commission, and should be drawn from persons of high standing in the Community with the following Terms of Reference:-
1. To advise the Commissioner on any aspect of the problem of corruption in Sierra Leone and, to this end;
- to keep the operational, staffing and administrative policies of the Commission under review;
- to receive reports by the Commissioner on disciplinary action taken and to advise on any dismissal he may be considering;
- to consider annual estimates of expenditure by the Commission;
- to scrutinize the annual report of the Commission before its submission to the President;
- to submit an annual report to the President on the work of the Committee.
2. To draw to the President's attention, as it considers necessary, any aspect of the work of the Commission or any problems encountered by it.
